3 reasons men need to be physically strong
Aug 18, 2025
There is nothing wrong with not being strong. However, I believe any man who has not attempted to become strong, has left a valuable piece of himself on the table.Let’s take a moment to define what a physically strong man is. It simply means a man who takes on a challenge strictly based on the difficulty. A marathon. A 600 lbs deadlift. A 17 minute 5k. A 350 lbs clean and jerk. You get the point. Strength is not just a raw number, but an amount of effort required for completion. What is the purpose of this effort, and how does it help a man become physically strong?
To the bread and butter. 3 reasons men need to be physically strong.
- We must do hard work to become strong.
- We must fail to become strong.
- We must learn to become strong.
Hard work is required to be a strong man.
There is no way around it. No shortcut. No cheating. Nothing. You either do the work or you do not. To wake up, and do the work is hard. Knowing the work is hard, makes it even harder. Check out this article on Men. Mental fortitude, confidence, and trust are just a few of the positive outcomes of grinding it out daily. I know we want a break sometimes. Maybe an off day with a few buddies, and beer. Every rep missed is a stat point lost. You could have been stronger. You could have worked longer. Instead, you copped out. It is okay for today. Get back up tomorrow. Get to work and build the strong man you wish to become.
Failure is not an option.
No one wants to fail. I know. I hate it as much as the next guy. But every time I make a mistake. I have a lesson thrust in front of me. These lessons are the building block to success. As we fail more and more, we understand how to fail less. Our gains happen more consistently. Our goals become easier to achieve. We develop a tenacity to fail, and move forward. The single act of training to failure, builds muscle tissue as the body learns the stimulus. The act of training the mind for failure, builds mental fortitude to succeed. Check out this article on men and failure. A physically strong man requires mental strength to continue to become strong. Failure develops both the body and the mind.
Learning is the key.
Too often, we fail and do not learn. Just as often, we succeed and do not learn. Knowledge is power. Knowledge is the product of success and failure streamlined for efficiency. Education presents a path to test. Along this path we practice failure, we work hard, and at the end we become physically strong men. We utilize this new found strength to learn a new path. We test. We re-test, and we became strong. Check out this article on educating young men. The cycle is simple. If implemented, it is universally effective for becoming strong. To take the time to learn one's self, is the ultimate sign of a physically strong man.
Time for that ole recap. 3 reasons men need to be physically strong.
- We must do hard work to become strong.
- We must fail to become strong.
- We must learn to become strong.
The idea of being a physically strong man is not new. However, it seems not much thought is passed around on the subject. Yes, there are many philosophers who speak on manliness. However, we do not have enough on why we should become physically strong. The benefits are mostly unseen. They are heard in a man's voice. Seen in the way he carries himself. They are the building blocks of strength. Becoming a physically strong man is a rite of passage. Become strong today.
