Yup. Here it is. Another “mind, body, and brain” article. When are you going to shut up and listen? This article provides you with 3 mental tools you need to be a fit man. These are 3 mental tools to teach you how to "shut up and listen”. You will also learn why you should "shut up and listen”. As I step down from my soap box, let’s get into the dirt of the article. We know we have a mentality. To act like it is not a weapon to be honed, is to neglect a part of your manliness. How we hone this weapon is a mystery to most. The beauty of the mystery lies in the search for discovery. With this philosophical mindset, let's discuss 3 mental tools to help you be a fit, strong man.

Curiosity.
As kids, we approached our bodies as a physical tool for discovery. Our curiosity drove us to climb, to throw, to pick up. Mostly just for fun. As adults we approach our body as if they are antique relics. Fragile. Weak. This is not a manly mindset. We are tough machines. We are designed to handle the aches and pains of physical effort. Curiosity builds this machine into a formidable man. A strong man. A fit man. Check out this article on Success and Curiosity. Here is my challenge to you. Pick 1 physical feat and try it. Maybe it's a rugby game. Maybe it's axe throwing. Maybe it's bare knuckle boxing. Pick 1. Do your homework and try.
Willingness to try.
Ego is an ugly foe. Ego stops us from trying new things. Ego will make you look more of a coward than brave. So why do we let it stop us from trying new things? Mainly because we don't want to be looked at as a fool. If you are like weak men, you spend most days trying to hide your big shoes, and squeaky nose. If you are like strong men, you wear them openly and proudly. You will try new physical feats. You will fail and succeed at these physical feats. You will grow and learn from these strong man feats. You will learn and grow all by simply trying. Check out this article on trying new things. Here is my challenge to you. Next time you are asked to try some physical feat, do it. No questions asked just do it. Even if you know you can't. Just do it. You will learn something. You will earn something. Call it a man point. Call it a mental check point. Just do it.
Data- Fitness Tracker
Most of us don’t like collecting data. Especially when numbers are involved. I don’t like them because they tell me the truth. Sometimes what I believe is the truth is proven to be false by numbers. Grunt. I always want to be right. BUT, since it is impossible, I have accepted my mere mortal status. I track many numbers: weight, calories, water, finances, client progress, etc. This has allowed me to see my true bearing and stay the course. Fitness trackers are wonderful for this. Much of the heavy lifting is done for you. Important metrics such as heart rate, daily steps, and weekly activity metrics, help us solve most physical riddles. If needed, a deeper dive such as exercise, and nutrition data may be necessary. Check out this article on the importance of fitness tracking. Here is another challenge for you. Track 3 physical data points. I recommend daily steps, Weekly Zone minutes, and weight. Ultimately you can choose your own. If you require help, holler at your boy. This is my area of expertise!
