Men's Home Gym (home gym equipment for men)

Not all of us men want to invest in a huge home gym. Many of us like to keep it simple. Our body weight and maybe a few other pieces of equipment are all we want. With all the fluff products on the market today. It is hard to choose the perfect home gym for men. This article will highlight Three of my must-have gym pieces. When I say must have, I have had them for at least 10 years. One of the pieces I have had in my arsenal for 25 years! You may be surprised to learn what it is! - Pullup bar/Dip bars
- Parallettes
- Punching Bag
Let’s dive into why I believe these are the best pieces of equipment for a mans home gym..
- Pullup bar
This one pretty much speaks for itself. Hanging is great for posterior strength. It is great for postural health. It is great for spinal decompression. The list can go on! The ability to do a pullup is the ultimate test of upper body strength. If you cannot support your body weight in a hang, today is the day to start training. - Parallettes/Dip Bars
This simple piece of metal can transform the possibilities in a home gym. Pressing is a great way to develop anterior strength. This means healthy shoulders, strong triceps, and shapely pecs! What more can a man want? Parallettes also develop the body's ability to support its own weight with the upper body. Pairing Pull Up Bar movements with Parallette Bar movements, can develop the entire upper body. Below I have listed a link to a few parallettes/dip bars. My favorite exercise is the L-Sit. - Punching Bag
It seems every home gym has one tucked in the corner. Sometimes it even becomes a bench to set a gym bag on. Now is the time to knock off the cobwebs, clean it up, and punch the dust out of it! I have literally had a punching bag since I was 15(25 years) . It has the most reps on it of any piece of equipment I have ever owned. Why? Explosiveness. Confidence. Martial ability. Thickening of bones. Thickening of tendons, and ligaments. Balance. Power. Self defense. How many more would you like? Every home gym for men absolutely MUST have a punching bag. It doesn't even have to be fancy. 100 punches. 100 kicks. Repeat. Thank me later!
In conclusion, a men's home gym does not have to be grand to be effective. I would even venture to say, “ The more grand the gym, the less effective it is.” The three pieces of equipment mentioned for every home gym, can provide a total body workout.
